Podcasting Takes Over NYC with the Sounds Profitable Business Summit and Podcast Movement

Next week, September 14 – 18, podcasting takes over New York City. The week starts off with the Sounds Profitable Business Summit on Monday and Tuesday, the annual IAB Podcast Upfront is Wednesday, and the first-ever NYC edition of Podcast Movement wraps things up Thursday and Friday.

The Signal Hill Insights team is honored to be presenting at both the Business Summit and Podcast Movement.

The Business Summit brings together senior decision makers from among Sounds Profitable’s partner companies. We’re excited to see Ira Glass, founder and host of This American Life, and true podcasting O.G., kick off the event with his talk, “Things that Podcasts Do Better.”

Triton Digital’s Gabrielle Montana joins Signal Hill Insights VP of Research Matt Hird at 1:30 PM to share, “The Audience & Performance Insights You Wish You Had.” Gabrielle will demonstrate the kind of rich demographic and consumer insights agencies, advertisers and publishers can mine from Triton Digital’s Demos+, showcasing podcasts and genres that overindex for valuable audience segments. But how do these audiences respond to podcast ads? That’s where Matt will dig into the Signal Hill Insights brand lift benchmarks to show exactly how brands are getting lift with these key demos.

Another veteran podcast talent starts off Tuesday, when endurance athlete Rich Roll recounts 13 years of podcasting in, “1,000 Episodes and Counting.” Journalist Don Lemon then reconvenes the event for the afternoon.

Much of the Podcast Movement schedule was voted on by the community. We’re delighted that our session with Libsyn was chosen.

On Thursday, 1:30 PM we’ll share how a national pizza brand deepened its brand impact with Gen Z through a popular YouTube podcast – and how we measured that impact. Libsyn’s Director of National Accounts Brittany Hall joins Signal Hill Insights President Paul Riismandel to walk through the campaign and brand lift strategy, customized to address the unique advantages and challenges of YouTube.

If you’re attending Podcast Movement we hope you’ll be able to catch our presentation. We’d also like to catch up. Feel free to find some time on our calendar to meet.

Attendees are spoiled for great choices of panels, sessions and presentations. Below are a handful that stand out to us.
