The most comprehensive study on podcast listening in Canada

Now in its fourth year, The Canadian Podcast Listener dives deep into the podcasts, platforms, demographics and motivations for Canada’s podcasters, podcast publishers, agencies, and advertisers.

Produced in partnership with Ulster Media with support from The Podcast Exchange (TPX), its mission is to elevate awareness and understanding of Canada’s podcast audience.  

The Canadian Podcast Chart looks at Canada’s most popular podcasts and helps subscribers understand who listens to what types of podcasts.  

A free summary report of The Canadian Podcast Listener 2019 is available at, along with information on how to unlock access to the full study of more than 4,500 Canadian adults accessed from Maru Voice Canada’s online panel.

The Canadian Podcast Listener 2020 study is slated to go into field in September. Meanwhile, you can access an interim mini-report looking at the Joe Rogan / Spotify deal [here]. Findings are based on a survey of podcast listeners on May 27/28, 2020.
