Tracking the evolution of audio consumption, and its implications for broadcasters and advertisers

2021 marks the 12th year of Radio on the Move, our annual survey of Canadians and their audio listening habits.

The Radio on the Move 2021 Update collects the opinions and media usage habits of just over 2,000 Canadians to identify emerging trends in the Canadian audio landscape over the past year. Special attention is paid to the impact of COVID-19, listener attention and ad avoidance, and the evolving role of AM/FM radio as it takes its place in the digital future.

Radio on the Move is funded by Radio Connects, the not-for-profit trade association for the Canadian radio industry.  For more information on the study, or to book a presentation of the findings, visit
